DRAKPA ZAMPO (1937-2012)
Early in the morning of the 29th of August, Drakpa Zampo, affectionately known as Drakpa la to those close to him, passed away at the age of 75 at the Sakya Dolma Phodrang in Rajpur. Drakpa la was the longest-standing attendant at the Phodrang. He had seen the birth of three generations of the Khön family. All at the Phodrang pray that he may have a fortunate rebirth where he may once again be at his gurus’ side.
LONG-LIFE CEREMONY FOR H.H. JIGDAL DAGCHEN RINPOCHE: On the 6th of December, 2012, His Holiness the Sakya Trizin presided over a Long-Life ceremony held at the Sakya Centre for His Holiness Jigdal Dagchen Rinpoche. The latter was accompanied by his son H.E. Zaya Vajra Rinpoche and by his wife, H.E. Dagmo Jamyang Sakya. At the ceremony, Khöndung Ratna Vajra Rinpoche offered H.H. Dagchen Rinpoche a mandala of the universe, while Khöndung Gyana Rinpoche presented him with symbolic offerings of long life. All three generations of the Sakya Dolma Phodrang were present at the ceremony and offered H.H. Dagchen Rinpoche their respects. H.E. Luding Khen Rinpoche made a mandala offering on behalf of Ngor Monastery.
TARA THREAD DIVERTING
RITUAL FOR WORLD PEACE:
From the 8th to the 12th of November, 2012, His Holiness presided over a five-day ritual at the Sakya Centre in Rajpur whose aim was to promote world peace and harmony and to pacify all obstacles to the long life and fulfillment of the noble aspirations of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and of all great Dharma holders.
It also aspired to appease all disease, conflicts, disasters and calamities and to establish peace the world over.
CELEBRATING H.E. LUDING KHENCHEN RINPOCHE’S 83RD BIRTHDAY: On the 29th of October, 2012, Khöndung Ratna Vajra Rinpoche visited the Ngor Monastery in Manduwala in order to celebrate the 83rd Birthday of H.E. Luding Khenchen Rinpoche. Also present at the ceremony were H.E. Khangsar Shabdrung Rinpoche, who offered His Eminence an explanation of the mandala, and H.E. Luding Shabdrung Rinpoche.
KHÖNDUNG RATNA VAJRA RINPOCHE IN LADAKH: Khöndung Ratna Vajra Rinpoche spent the last ten days of September 2012 in Ladakh, where he visited several monasteries and schools and gave teachings and initiations. Rinpoche spent the major part of his stay at Matho Gompa near Leh, the Ladakhi capital.

On the 25th of May, 2012, Khöndung Ratna Vajra Rinpoche arrived at Sakya Tsechen Ling in Kuttolsheim, France. This was to be Rinpoche's first stop in a European tour that would take him to France, Italy, Spain and Germany and would last until the 15th of July. >READ FULL REPORT
